The Willowemoc swells with snowmelt, wildflowers line the trails, and trout season opens — this is why anglers call the Catskills home.

Beaverkill & Willowemoc Creeks
The legendary "birthplace of American fly fishing" — right outside the cabin door. Trout season opens in April. Stop into the Catskill Fly Fishing Center in Livingston Manor for gear and guided trips.
April – June Peak
Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum
Right in Livingston Manor. Exhibits, casting lessons on-site, and guided wade trips on the Willowemoc. Perfect for beginners and seasoned anglers alike.
Open Spring – Fall
Pepacton Reservoir
~30 min near Downsville. Excellent trout and bass fishing with stunning reservoir scenery. NY State permits required — pick them up locally before heading out.

The highest peak in the Catskills (~35 min near Oliverea). A rewarding 6-mile round trip. Spring wildflowers line the trail in May.

One of the tallest waterfalls in the Northeast (~40 min near Palenville). Spring snowmelt makes the falls dramatic. A 2-mile round trip — bring waterproof shoes.

Host Note: Fishing Licenses
NY State fishing licenses can be purchased online at dec.ny.gov or at local sporting goods stores in Livingston Manor. Non-residents can buy a 1-day or 7-day license. The Willowemoc is literally steps from the cabin — bring your waders.
